All programs in the Jacobs School of Music require an audition or interview, and in some cases, both. Many programs also require a pre-screening. Select your area’s page for more information regarding audition/interview and/or prescreen repertoire requirements.
When is the deadline for the Jacobs School of Music?
All admission and scholarship decisions are sent via email by April 1, as long as you have a complete IU and JSOM Supplemental application on file. When do you submit your final JSOM audition?
Final recorded audition submissions are due by March 1, 2022. To submit a final recorded audition, indicate recorded audition on your JSOM Supplemental application. Once submitted, your application status will appear as “Upload Media” and you can return to the application to upload your final audition recording (s).
Do you have to have a prescreen for an audition?
If your area requires a prescreen, you will first be notified of your prescreen result by email. If you are invited to the audition/interview round (or your area does not require a prescreen), you will receive your audition schedule via email.
